Jay Curry | SYFG (Interview)




So I had the privilege of getting to know amazing people in the last few years. This here, is Jay Curry. 

- We all know that films have a way of motivating people to do things. what is a movie that changed your life for the better, and why?


This is a tough one, but i would probably have to say Igby Goes Down. The way Igby goes through life balancing his perception of  people and places in a fuck the world attitude, but also admits he's lost, I kind of connect with that. He just likes to be alone with his own thoughts but also enjoys the company of women or meeting new people he can learn from.

- You're fashion seems to be very simple, very utilitarian. If you could wear an outfit every day, and be comfortable. what would it consist of?


Ha i like to see myself as that. Damn, I guess i would wear a HUF shirt and some American Apparel shorts. For shoes i would go with Aloha Vans. I never get a haircut when i should get one... so i would wear a HUF hat.


- Music is a way of life, It's something that speaks all languages even the mute. What is the latest song that  you've heard that digs inside the mind and stops you?

Tycho - Daydream. The guitar is so fucking smooth and the drums are laidback and they hit like a motherfucker. The drums and tempo progression are also i great part of the song..he switches it up without loosing the listener.  Tycho is one of my favorite artists' his shit is so mellow and intricate. The ambiance really mellows out my mind and inspires me to create sounds I wouldn't have thought of.  nicevibez 

The Drum - Euthanasia. Stoveman put me on to them. The vocal cuts are mind blowing man, The way that shit plays out at the end of the song!!!!!?? Whatttt. Their drums have a dope groove also. The overall song puts me in a good fucking mood, i'm really looking foward to their new shit coming out. Check em! 

- If you could sit and have coffee with a lady, just to have conversation, who would it be?


Kat Dennings. She seems like the coolest chick out there, I think we would have some pretty fucking cool conversations, and shes kinda funny. Or maybe Saha Grey, her personality is dope....and she does porn. But Kat Dennings has a nice body.....i dont know  this is hard. fuck it i'll take Bambi Northwood.

Lets Make This Year Count

I remember last year, I bought myself a new car and cupcakes for Valentines day. I loathed the day. I cringed when I saw other couples. I wanted to throw my cupcakes at them. (but it was Sprinkles cupcakes so i couldn't throw that). This year is a bit different. This year might take the decline back up. I don't want to give too much detail so I'll just share a hodgepodge of music, videos, and stories. This post isn't for the couples, It's for my single people out there hustling. For the 9-5 folks, for the work after work folks, to the go getters... this is for you. And so is this picture of me being awkward.




I personally don't believe that this day is for "lovers". No no no, fuck that. This day is for everyone. This day is feel loved. And if no one is there for you, well damn, get your lazy ass up and DO IT FOR YOURSELF. Hit the gym, have a fancy lunch, go grocery shopping, buy yourself some goods!

I hope everyone does what makes them happy today. I don't care if you just take yourself to the spa, grab a bottle of champagne and make a netflix night for yourself. OR, spending it with your significant other, I just hope all of you are doing something for yourself today. You deserve it!

To conclude this post, don't let corporate America tell you what today is. Fuck em', because if anything, today is the day to take EXTRA care of yourself. To quote H5C (High 5 Collective)...
